Kutting-edge Korean Kreations

Korean artist Seung Mo Park uses a meticulous wire-cutting method to create the intimate wire-mesh portraiture viewed above. This method involves first projecting the original photograph onto the wire, then slowly snipping away at multiple layers of wire to form the image. This psuedo-sculpting technique is entirely unique and the results have an indefinable dimension and depth. Below is a video and it can also be found here.

Inflation Instigates a Search for New Uses of Devalued Currency

Canadian visual artist Kristi Malakoff has created a series using only currency as her medium. I have to say that my favorite is $100 Cabin, which was created using only a Canadian $100 bill. The irony of using a national specie to illustrate native species in her Ornithological series is so tongue-in-cheek, I couldn’t help but laugh.

This is some dynamite dinero.

(NOTE: Please forgive that last one….I couldn’t resist).
